Book written by N.H. Barbour and financed by Charles Taze Russell. Published in 1877. It proclaimed that Christ's invisible return had occurred in 1874, that the resurrection of the saints occurred in 1875, and predicted the end of the "harvest" and a rapture of the saints to heaven would occur in 1878, and the final end of "the day of wrath" would be in 1914. 1874 was considered the end of 6000 years of human history and the beginning of judgment by Christ. Russell went on to publish the Watchtower magazine, which is now published by Jehovah's Witnesses. Included are two contemporary reviews of The Three Worlds. One review is by George Storrs and was published in his magazine The Bible Examiner. The other was published in the magazine The Rainbow.
